| Housing crisis begins to hit suburbs
In April 2007, Connecticut had the third-highest foreclosure rate in the nation and it remained in the top 10 in May and June before falling off the top of the list in July. The difference between Tuesday's RealtyTrac report and those from 2007 is where the foreclosures took place. In 2007, the foreclosures were happening in Bridgeport, New Haven and Hartford. Now, those white-and-black auction signs are popping up more frequently in suburbs like Fairfield and Milford as well as Stamford. Just two months ago, RealtyTrac data showed that 657 families living in 14 Connecticut municipalities were in preforeclosure, which means they were delinquent and a foreclosure filing was imminent. Those 14 cities and towns represented a cross-section of Fairfield County and other cities and towns in the Bridgeport area.

At least he is putting it in the hands of people that are going to make a difference. If he would have given it to Orleans Parish the mayor and his cronies would have stole most of it and only put less then half of it into building a Recreational Center. Currently, it appears we are in a period of slow warming. The question is whether human activities (specifically the burning of fossil fuels, including coal and petroleum products) will lead to a warming that will be irreversible.

From Aqua Dots to Big Red Wagons, hundreds of toys have been recalled this year. With one of the biggest shopping days of the year coming up this week, most parents are wondering if the presents they plan to put under the tree are safe for their children. Today the Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group, known as WISPIRG announced results of their annual toy safety survey. The safety survey focused on three main concerns with childrens toys this year: toys with small pieces that could be choking hazards, those with powerful magnets, and toys that contain lead should all be left on the shelves. Half of all toy related deaths are caused by choking. So, before buying your childrens favorite little figurine you want to make sure there are no tiny pieces that could easily fall off and be swallowed.
