The rules on plagiarism, (with full credit to MLK)

Deval Patrick of Massachusetts are not, as Hillary Clinton put it in last Thursday's University of Texas debate, "change you can Xerox," an inappropriate use of another's words: Patrick was advising Obama on his speeches and encouraged Obama to use the lines.

Rule No. 3: If it's from a widely known source, such as the Bible or the founding documents of America, it's not plagiarism. King's speeches, like most civil rights oratory, drew on two primary sources: The Bible and the founding documents of America. King quotes the Declaration of Independence and the Bible in "I Have A Dream," but he does not always attribute the sources. He says "we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream," for example, but does not acknowledge he is quoting God's words to Israel in Amos 5:24.

Questions Remain on Fidel's Role

Now, government broadcasts make do with his recorded voice from past speeches, often in heavily nostalgic documentaries about his life and deeds. His bearded visage still hangs in offices, but is rare on the billboards that once pictured him in olive drab uniform above upbeat messages like "Everything's going well!"

Dreams, bullpen stressing me out

Mike Gonzalez is on his way back from Tommy John. The Braves haven't seen the real Gonzalez yet and maybe they will by midseason.

Manny Acosta was probably the best of the young arms, which is why he's still here and not Ascanio. And Devine? Gosh, the nicest guy, a Wolfpack (how do you make that singular, NC State grads?), with first-round pick stuff. Personally I think his is one of the most poignant stories to come around for the Braves in a long time. I remember a fellow writer describing him after the playoff game in 2005 in Houston where he gave up the game-winning home run to Chris Burke in the 18th inning. This was after the grand slam debacle earlier in the season. The writer described seeing Devine in the dugout after the game with a tear rolling down his cheek.

But I, for one, think the guy could use a fresh start.

Our Troops Must Leave Iraq

As for the Courics, Williams, whatever is on ABC and the dregs from cable. Go to hell you spineless worms. You're worthless.

Yes, indeed, bring the troops home, and send them to D.C. –to evict these bastards. (since voting won't do it anymore)

Skatepark will have to go

Councillor Chris Mote, leader of Harrow Council, told the Byron Skatepark Users Association the current facility at Byron Park, off Christchurch Avenue, will definitely be demolished.

He said: "The existing skatepark will have to go - I have got to make that absolutely clear.

"We will never please everyone all of the time, this is not utopia, but we want to take an approach that is fair to everyone."

The skatepark will be demolished to make way for a new leisure centre and replaced with a new facility on a different location in the park.

Members of the users group told Cllr Mote the existing park would cost more to replace than the £300,000 the council has already promised.

Meaford churches entered

The rash of church break-ins in the area continues.

Break-ins at three Meaford churches, all within close proximity to each other, were discovered Sunday morning.

Thieves took an undisclosed amount of petty cash from two of the three churches. Doors at two of the churches were found pried open, while a third church likely had an unlocked door, Grey County OPP media relations officer Const. Steve Starr said in a news release.

The Bethany Church of Nazarene at 34 Trowbridge St. W., First Baptist Church at 35 Trowbridge St. W., and the St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church at the corner of Cook and Collingwood streets were each hit.

Police in Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth and Wellington counties have investigated a surge in church and library break-ins in the past few months.
