McLean's wife stays on the move, lawyer says

In affidavits filed in Knox County Fourth Circuit Court, Eric McLean and his divorce attorney, Steve Sharp, allege former West High School student teacher Erin McLean is embarked on a rootless existence with a 19-year-old paramour.

"(Erin McLean) has been to California and then to Austin, Texas, staying in cheap motels and then moving when she is unable to pay the bills," Sharp wrote.

Attorney Bruce Poston, who is defending Eric McLean on charges that he killed Sean Powell, his wife's teenage student and lover, in March, said Tuesday Erin McLean has since surfaced in Boulder, Colo.

Sharp has been trying to serve Erin McLean with divorce papers since September to no avail in an effort to gain custody of the couple's sons, ages 11 and 8.

It was then that Erin McLean fled her mother's Nashville home with the boys after news surfaced that she had lied to get a job as a teacher at a private Christian school and allegedly tried to seduce a 17-year-old student.

State Police arrest man in bicyclist’s death

LAROSE — State Police on Tuesday arrested a Cut Off man accused of leaving the scene of a fatal traffic accident Sunday night, according to a news release.

Troop C Public Information Officer Gilbert Dardar said in the release that Tommy Eymard, 57, was booked with one count of felony hit-and-run just before noon Tuesday.

Troopers determined it was a white 1998 Chrysler Cirrus, driven by Eymard, that hit a bicycle rider Sunday night on La. 308 near the Larose Truck Plaza, a State Police news release said.

Car parts found at the scene of the crash matched the damaged Cirrus that troopers located on Tuesday, the news release said.

The bicyclist, Rigoberto O. Valladares, 41, of Lockport, was dead at the scene.

It's an issue that has largely flown under the radar of corporate America, but that is starting to change. Benefits offered by employers focus on treating physical ailments. Social stigma, privacy concerns and difficulty in making a business case for coverage can present other barriers. However, faced with escalating medical costs, large employers are focusing more on measures to prevent problems before they happen. That trend is shedding light on the mental health challenges workers face, Dow Jones Newswires reports. The reason: more use of questionnaires called health risk assessments (HRAs), which ask workers to describe the state of their health. More... .

Kevin Allen: Disappointed Wings didn't get Fedorov, but Stuart a good ...

To me its a mixed bag. I really am disappointed in the team that they didnt make an effort to get Sergei Fedorov, I think they poked around there, but when you see what Fedorov went for, I just think they decided there was mixed reviews to decide to bring him in. They decided they liked their group up front. I disagree. I thought he would be a nice fit in there.

On Brad Stuart:

I do like what they did on defense, after the big boys (Dan Boyle, who was re-signed, and Rob Blake, who did not want to waive his no-trade clause), I thought that Brad Stuart was the best of that group and when you give only a couple draft picks, and not a first rounder, and you get a two-way defenseman with a little bit of grit and size and can move the puck, I think you made a pretty good move.

Govt urged to take up turban ban issue with France

Dubbing the clamping of ban on headgear of Sikhs in France by the French Government as a grave and unjustified attack on the religious freedom of Sikhs, the Shiromani Akali Dal today urged the UPA-led Central Government to take up the case of Sikhs with the French government and ensure that the law banning the wearing of headgear in France should be revoked at the earliest.

Meanwhile, the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the SAD has authorised the party chief Mr Parkash Singh Badal to take decision on holding talks with partys alliance partner BJP on the issue of forthcoming byelection for Kapurthala and Garhshankar Assembly seats, selection of candidates and for the these elections and for selection of candidates for election of SGPC president and office-bearers.

A resolution of the PAC, the meeting of which was held under the chairmanship of Mr Badal here today, said Sikhs all over the world had been hurt by the ban on wearing of turban in France.

Mazda's Sweet Little CX-7

Crossover vehicles are hot sellers right now. So why is one of the hottest models in the segment—Mazda's curvaceous CX-7—suddenly not doing so well? The answer seems to be that there are now so many excellent crossovers crowding onto the market that shoppers can afford to be far more finicky than they were even six months ago.

For all of last year, North American sales of the CX-7 were up 86.6%, to 41,659. But the model peaked late last summer. Sales fell by 23.2% in October, 21% in November, rose a meager 1.9% in December, and fell again by 7.6%, to 2,555, in January.

What pulled the rug out? Shoppers have a lot more crossover vehicles to choose from than before, for one thing. These include Honda's (HMC) wildly popular CR-V and Toyota's (TM) Rav4, as well as such new models as the Nissan (NSANY) Rogue, the redesigned Saturn Vue, and the redesigned Ford Escape.
